Hilda McGilda was a work of joy from start to finish. I had originally written it as a story for my children, and it soon became my entry in National Theatre of the Deaf's Playwrighting Program. When I met my dear friend, Lois Ebbert, this talented watercolor artist confessed that her life-long dream was to become a children's book illustrator. "Lois, honey, have I got a story for you!" So we joined forces, two grandmothers with a dozen grandchildren between us. In fact, we earned the moniker, "The Giggling Grammys," because of all the joy and laughter we shared as we brought Hilda McGilda to life and shared her story with countless readers the world over. You can read more about Hilda McGilda and The Giggling Grammys' journey on Hilda's very own website: www.hildamcgilda.com. Hilda McGilda is also available on our wonderful publisher's website: www.sleepytownpress.com.

The story behind MOLLY MARIE and THE AMAZING JIMMY
Although you'd never it know it from my last name (which I "inherited" when I married my darling hubby), I was blessed to grow up in an Irish family filled with grandmothers, aunts, uncles, and cousins galore. Storytelling, art, music, and theatre were literally part of the very air we breathed. Why, it was nothing for us kids to put on a play for our family and friends any and every day of the week!
As a grandmother, I'm blessed to see these traditions and treasured joys of my youth passed on to yet another generation. Believe it or not, MOLLY MARIE and THE AMAZING JIMMY is actually based on a true family story!
While it was great fun creating a tale that weaves Irish folklore and the magic of every day together, the true joy in creating MOLLY MARIE and THE AMAZING JIMMY lies in depicting the magical bonds of love and trust that exist between a delightful leprechaun, a wonderful family, and a pretty amazing little girl.
